Biography of HRH King Declan I
HRH King Declan I was born Declan Stanley on 10th August 1966 in Dublin, Ireland. The youngest of four children, he had a happy and uneventful childhood.
He has had a life long interest in science and technology, and most especially space travel and exploration.
His earliest memories are of the Apollo moon landings. And as a child he devoured all the books he could find in his local public library on the subject of space exploration, both fiction and non fiction.
Declan started with the believe that space travel was so expensive and dangerous that only big government programs were possible. But as he got older he began to realise that the type of space exploration that would lead to space settlement was not on the agenda of any government space program. And indeed that most people had not even considered space settlement let along be willing to work, and pay, towards such an outlandish goal.
In the 1990’s Declan joined various organisations, such as ASI and The Living Universe Foundation in order to work towards the goal of space settlement, but soon became disillusioned and frustrated with their progress.
On the 24th February 2001 Declan founded the Kingdom of Tycho.
Today he lives in Co. Clare, Ireland, with his wife, their three children and their dog.
